Marco Battaglia is running for Lieutenant Governor of Iowa alongside Gubernatorial candidate Rick Stewart. Battaglia is active in local politics, a regular at Des Moines city council meetings, he ran for Des Moines city council in 2019 coming in 3rd out of 7 candidates. He also earned over a quarter million votes in his 2018 race Attorney General of Iowa, a record for a candidate coming from outside of the two larger parties. Battaglia works in corrections and has a passion for helping inmates through addiction and with mental health rehabilitation that will allow them to become good neighbors upon release.
